Designed for Day to Night Transitions: Revival Blackstone Restaurant Lighting Story

Background
Revival Blackstone is not designed to be subtle. From bold interiors to a lively crowd, everything about the space leans into energy and personality. It’s a place where afternoons ease into happy hours, and nights carry on well past midnight.
With long operating hours and different moods throughout the day, lighting plays a key role in shaping the experience. What works during early evening does not suit late-night crowds. The team needed a system that could keep up with this shift without constant manual changes.

Objectives
- Keep the atmosphere aligned with time of day and customer flow
- Allow staff to adjust lighting quickly without interrupting service
- Maintain consistency across multiple zones within the venue
- Reduce dependency on manual switching during busy hours
Challenges
This space does not operate in one mode. Lighting needs to evolve as the environment changes. Bright lighting during early hours can feel out of place later in the night. At the same time, the team cannot spend time adjusting lighting when the venue is full.
Another layer comes from the layout. Bar areas, seating zones, and transitional spaces all require slightly different lighting behavior. Without a coordinated system, maintaining that balance becomes difficult.
Solutions
Radiar AF10 – 2 channel AC powered 0-10V fixture controller with inbuilt relay
Radiar AF10 was used to control lighting across key zones, allowing smooth dimming between different levels. It helped create distinct lighting moods for bar areas and seating spaces without abrupt changes.
PSC-WCM-450-BLE-WS – 0-10V dimmable room controller
This controller ensured stable lighting control in specific sections of the venue. It kept lighting predictable and easy to manage throughout the day.
Omni TED – trailing edge dimmer
Omni TED handled fixtures requiring trailing edge dimming, enabling softer lighting during late hours. This helped maintain a warm and inviting feel without harsh brightness.
PSC-DM-WS-100-BLE-WS – 1-button Bluetooth mesh wall controller
This controller allowed staff to activate preset scenes instantly. A single press could shift the lighting from daytime mode to evening ambience.
PSC-DM-I-WS-100-BLE-WS – motion sensor dimmer switch
Used in support areas, this device combined motion sensing with dimming control. It reduced the need for manual switching in less active spaces.
Cyrus AP – AC powered wireless PIR motion and light sensor
Cyrus AP sensors were placed in back-of-house and transition zones. Lighting in these areas responded automatically to occupancy, keeping operations smooth.
Enor E – Gateway with RTC, Ethernet and astronomical clock
Enor E connected all devices and handled scheduling. With its real-time clock and time-based automation, lighting changes stayed consistent without daily adjustments.
Result
The lighting now follows the rhythm of the venue. Early evening feels welcoming, happy hours carry the right energy, and late-night settings shift naturally without manual effort.
Staff can adjust lighting in seconds when needed, but most of the time, the system runs on its own. Customers experience a space that feels intentional and consistent, no matter when they visit.
