The Mint Gaming Hall, a luxury casino in Kentucky, USA, aimed to create an unforgettable experience for its guests. Known for its vibrant gaming spaces and high-end feel, The Mint wanted to establish an ambiance that would reflect its luxurious brand while providing practical, efficient lighting management. Lumos Controls provided a lighting solution that would combine elegance, flexibility, and ease of use.

Objectives

• Creating a Luxurious Ambiance: They needed to establish a luxurious, inviting atmosphere that would resonate with high-end customers.

• Pre-set Scenes: Provide tailored lighting scenes for various gaming areas, events, or themes to elevate the guest experience.

• Flexible Lighting Control: The ability to adjust lighting intensity and color temperature to suit different times of day and specific areas was crucial.

• Energy Efficiency: Reducing energy consumption while maintaining optimal lighting levels was a priority.

• User-Friendly Controls: The lighting system needed to be easy to controls for staff to operate, minimizing training time and operational costs.

Challenges

The Mint Gaming Hall required a lighting system that could offer high flexibility and control to meet the dynamic needs of a vibrant casino. The main challenge was to install the new lighting system without interrupting The Mint Gaming Hall’s ongoing activities. Every step had to be carefully managed to avoid disrupting the core gaming sessions. Additionally, the solution needed to blend seamlessly with the casino’s existing aesthetic, maintaining its luxurious look while integrating the new lighting controls.

Solution 

Lumos Controls provided a tailored lighting solution that seamlessly integrated with The Mint’s interior design: 

• Radiar AF10: 2 channel AC powered 0-10V fixture controller  

This 2-channel AC-powered fixture controller offered them perfect control over individual lighting fixtures. The inbuilt relay made it easy to adjust brightness levels and intensity across different zones, helping create a seamless transition in ambiance from one gaming area to another. 
 

• Radiar AR10: 2 channel AC powered 0-10V room controller  

Serving as the central controller, the Radiar AR10 provided comprehensive control over room lighting, allowing staff to manage the intensity across large gaming areas. Its reliable 0-10V room control enabled smooth dimming and scene adjustments to maintain the desired luxurious tone throughout the casino. 
 

• EDRPB: Battery-Free Wireless Switch  
  To ensure easy access to lighting controls, Lumos Controls provided the EDRPB wireless self-powered 4-button switch. With this intuitive switch, staff could adjust lighting in specific areas quickly and effortlessly, using pre-set lighting scenes for different events, game zones, and even themed nights, all while conserving energy. 
   

• Mobile and Web App: 

Lumos Controls’ Mobile and Web App provided them with powerful, user-friendly tools for managing and optimizing lighting across the entire space. The mobile app allowed staff to easily control lighting scenes, adjust intensity, and manage zones from any location, ensuring quick responses to changing needs on the gaming floor. The web app offered in-depth insights and reports on energy usage and lighting patterns, enabling the casino to make informed decisions that enhance both ambiance and efficiency.

The lighting solution transformed The Mint Gaming Hall, bringing out the rich, luxurious aesthetic the casino was aiming for.
