Background

Wood River Senior Center required an intelligent lighting control solution that could improve occupant comfort, simplify lighting management, and enhance energy efficiency throughout resident areas, activity rooms, offices, corridors, and shared community spaces. 

The objective was to create a safe, comfortable, and energy-efficient environment while ensuring lighting remained intuitive and easy to manage for both staff and residents. 

To achieve this, Lumos Controls delivered a flexible wireless lighting control ecosystem using Radiar fixture controllers, wireless wall stations, occupancy sensing solutions, gateways, and Bluetooth mesh enabled devices.

Challenges 

Senior living facilities require lighting solutions that balance comfort, visibility, reliability, and operational efficiency. Different areas within the center experience varying occupancy patterns throughout the day. 

Resident lounges, dining areas, and activity spaces require welcoming ambient lighting, while offices and utility spaces benefit from automated lighting operation to reduce energy waste. Corridors and shared pathways require dependable lighting for occupant safety and comfort. 

The client required a lighting control system that could automate operation, simplify user interaction, and minimize infrastructure complexity while maintaining a comfortable environment for residents. 

Lumos Controls Solution 

Lumos Controls implemented a comprehensive wireless lighting control system tailored to the operational requirements of Wood River Senior Center. 

LR21F600 + AF10 

The LR21F600 drivers paired with Radiar AF10 fixture controllers were deployed to provide reliable 0-10V dimming and wireless fixture control across multiple lighting zones. This combination enabled smooth brightness adjustment while improving energy efficiency throughout the facility. 

Radiar AF10 – Wireless 0–10V Fixture Controller 

Radiar AF10 controllers were installed across resident spaces, offices, and shared areas to deliver flexible wireless lighting control and seamless dimming performance. 

PSC-DM-WS-100-BLE-WS – Motion Sensor Dimmer Switch 

Installed in offices, storage rooms, and utility areas, the Bluetooth enabled motion sensor dimmer switches automated lighting based on occupancy while allowing manual user control when required. 

Enor E Gateway 

The Enor E gateway connected all wireless devices into one intelligent lighting network, enabling centralized scheduling, remote management, and simplified system control. 

ESRN + PSC-WCM-450-BLE-WS – Wireless Wall Controller 

Wireless wall controllers were installed in multipurpose rooms and shared spaces to provide intuitive local control and quick lighting adjustments for staff and residents. 

WiSilica Enabled Room Controller 

The room controller enabled seamless communication between lighting devices and supported localized control throughout the facility for dependable system operation. 

PSC-DM-I-WS-100-BLE-WS – Intelligent Motion Sensor Dimmer 

Used in selected occupancy-based zones to automate lighting control while supporting dimming and energy-saving functionality. 

Cyrus AP – Wireless PIR Motion & Light Sensor 

Cyrus AP sensors were deployed in corridors, activity spaces, and common areas to automatically activate lighting when occupancy was detected and reduce lighting levels when spaces became vacant.
